The Chinese Foreign Ministry on Friday announced sanctions against Lithuanian Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications Agne Vaiciukeviciute due to her visit to China's Taiwan region.

According to the statement published on the ministry's website, China also decides to suspend all forms of exchange with the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Lithuania, and suspend exchange and cooperation with Lithuania in the field of international road transport.

The visit tramples on the one-China principle, seriously interferes in China's internal affairs, and undermines China's sovereignty and territorial integrity, the statement stressed.
