China, Japan should boost peopel-to-people exchanges, local-level cooperation: state councilor

NAGOYA, Japan, Nov. 23 (Xinhua) -- China and Japan should further boost people-to-people exchanges and expand local-level cooperation, Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi said here on Saturday.

Wang made the remarks during a meeting with Aichi Governor Hideaki Omura on the sidelines of the Group of 20 (G20) Foreign Ministers' Meeting.

Omura introduced the friendly exchanges and cooperation between Aichi prefecture and China's Jiangsu, Guangdong and Shandong provinces, expressing willingness to further strengthen exchanges with other provinces and cities of China.

Wang appreciated Aichi prefecture's long-term commitment to the friendly exchanges and cooperation between the two countries, and encouraged the prefecture to seize opportunities resulted from improvement and development of bilateral relations, strengthen the people-to-people exchanges including the young people, and expand local-level exchanges and cooperation.
