BEIJING, Dec. 25 (Xinhua) -- The China Movie Channel of China Central Television (CCTV) has announced six film projects that will receive sponsorship from the channel's filmmaking campaign "Movie Plus."

The "Movie Plus" campaign was initiated in September, inviting promising young filmmakers to adapt selected literary works into film and formulate production plans.

Six out of 64 film adaptations contending for sponsorship have been chosen by experts to receive financial support and professional mentoring in filmmaking from renowned filmmakers and actors including Jackie Chan.

Selected film projects span genres such as science fiction, romantic comedy and crime.

"Movie Plus" has set up a platform for healthy competition in filmmaking and is beneficial for the development of China's film industry, said Ming Zhenjiang, head of the China Film Producers' Association.
