Boosting bilateral trade is something the United States and China should work on to keep the two sides' economic relationship balanced, said Chinese Premier Li Keqiang at the China Development Forum in Beijing on Monday.

It is the strength and internal rules of the market that has developed the economy and trade ties between the two sides to the size they share now. Dialogue is the proper way to solve any conflict or friction, Li said. Otherwise, it will be harmful for not only the US and China, but the whole world.

In addition, the international community ought to stand up for the multilateral trade system, and be clearly against protectionism and unilateralism, reiterated Li.

China will treat enterprises home and abroad evenly and the country welcomes more competitive companies to grow in the country and looks forward to developing opportunities with them, Li said.

Nearly 100 people from all walks of life attended the forum, including leaders from World's top 500 companies, scholars and experts from renowned international academic research organizations and representatives from major international organizations.
