Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Zhao Lijian on Monday opposed U.S. lawmakers' plan to ban investment in firms with ties to the Chinese military.

China objects the U.S. politicization of economic issues and the groundless accusations against Chinese firms, said Zhao.

He urged U.S. politicians to do more to strengthen the trust between the two countries and promote mutual benefits.
