Chinese President Xi Jinping said China welcomes all interested partners to participate in the construction of the Belt and Road, to work together to achieve high-quality development and common prosperity.

Xi made the remarks while discussing inclusive development in the Japanese city of Osaka at a summit of the G20 major economies.

Xi said China agrees to make high-quality infrastructure construction an important starting point for promoting inclusive development.

Noting that the Belt and Road Initiative is committed to promoting the common development of the international community, Xi said it has become an international public product and an open and inclusive cooperation platform for the benefit of all parties.

Xi urged sticking to the principle of achieving shared growth through discussion and collaboration, practicing the concepts of openness, greenness and integrity, and striving to achieve high-standard, livelihood-improving and sustainable development. The ultimate goal is to better integrate into the global supply chain, industry chain and value chain through comprehensive connectivity, he said.

He added that China will continue to make efforts in implementing the UN's 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Xi also said the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing in April had reached a broad consensus and fruitful results on the high-quality construction of the Belt and Road.
