China provides aid supplies to Indonesia quake victims

The humanitarian aid supplies from the Chinese government for the Indonesian earthquakes and tsunami victims arrived at the airport in Balikpapan, Indonesia on Tuesday afternoon.

The Red Cross Society of China would also transfer 200,000 US dollars to the Indonesian Red Cross, the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia announced on September 30.

The death toll from the powerful quakes and tsunami, which struck Indonesia's Central Sulawesi Province on September 28, has jumped to 1,944, according to the latest news briefing.
