Through the EU's Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed, France announced it had found a "too high count of Escherichia coli (2100 MPN/100g) in live oysters."

French authorities have taken measures to recall the affected oysters, but some of them still entered markets of China, Denmark, Germany and other countries, the administration said on its official Sina Weibo.

The administration has called for rigorous quarantine inspections of French oysters, or for the imports to be immediately returned or destroyed to prevent them from entering the market.
