The coastal city in Liaoning Province registered no new asymptomatic cases on Tuesday, the municipal health commission said Wednesday.

By Tuesday, Dalian had 62 COVID-19 patients being treated in hospital and nine asymptomatic carriers under medical observation, the commission said.

Zhao Lian, deputy director of the commission, said the city would continue to boost nucleic acid testing capacity. On Tuesday alone, more than 12,000 people received nucleic acid tests in the city.

A worker at a seafood processing company in Dalian was found with COVID-19 on July 22 and the ensuing screening led to the discovery of more cases. With large-scale screenings and other anti-virus measures, the city tamed the outbreak in early August.
