BEIJING, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) -- The number of charging posts for new energy vehicles in China continued steady growth thanks to the robust development of the country's green transportation, data from China Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Promotion Alliance showed.

The number of charging posts across the country has reached 1.08 million by the end of August, representing a year-on-year growth of 67.8 percent, the alliance said.

In August, about 9,000 public charging posts were added from July, according to the alliance.

From September 2018 to August 2019, China added around 15,000 new public charging posts each month on average, the data showed.

By the end of August this year, the country had 245 power stations for electric vehicle drivers to change batteries, with 107 of them located in Beijing.
