A group of Chinese female J-11B fighter pilots from a brigade of the PLA Air Force Xi'an Flight Academy successfully took their first solo flight recently.

Five female pilots, with an average age of 23, steered the fighter and finished advanced flight maneuvers, showcasing the strength, tenacity and grace of Chinese female pilots.

Graduated from the PLA Air Force Aviation University in June 2020, these young women came to the PLA Air Force Xi'an Flight Academy to take advanced courses. After three years of intensive training, they successfully completed their training and realized their dreams of flying China's modern fighters with their ambition and perseverance.

"As one of the young women who have a dream of becoming a pilot, it is my fortune to be selected as a female pilot. I know our responsibility is very heavy. We can fly J-11Bs and J-20s, and our mission is to explore the boundless blue sky unfolding in front of us," said Wang Chen, a female J-11B fighter pilot.
