China unveiled new members of the Fuxing family, the country’s newest and fastest high-speed trains, in Beijing on Monday.

The new trains made their debut in a show that demonstrates the latest advances in technology innovation in China's railway system. They will begin operation in the next few years.

A longer version of the fastest Fuxing trains was also made its appearance on Monday. Running at 350 kilometers per hour, it has 17 carriages, an added 7.5 percent in capacity compared to the current version. It’s still unknown when the extended Fuxing train will be put into operation.

Among the newest trains is a smart train that will shuttle between Beijing and Zhangjiakou, the twin host cities of the upcoming Winter Olympics. The train is designed to run in extreme winter weather with less carbon emissions and more automation control system.
