The city of Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong Province, reported one asymptomatic COVID-19 case on Thursday, according to Guangzhou Municipal Health Commission on Friday.

The 40-year-old male patient works at a hotel designated as a quarantine facility to receive international arrivals, the commission said.

As for now, a total of 68 close contacts linked to the asymptomatic case have been quarantined and 66 tested negative for COVID-19, while two others are still waiting for the results.
