China's Hebei reports 1 new COVID-19 case

SHIJIAZHUANG, Jan. 30 (Xinhua) -- North China's Hebei Province reported one new confirmed COVID-19 case on Friday, the provincial health commission said Saturday.

It was the second consecutive day that the province registered only one COVID-19 confirmed case, down from 90 at the peak of the latest round of COVID-19 outbreak since the start of this year.

The locally transmitted case was reported in the provincial capital Shijiazhuang. No new asymptomatic infections were registered on Friday.

Also on Friday, 94 patients were discharged from hospital and 16 asymptomatic infections were released from medical observation.

A total of 534 locally transmitted COVID-19 cases were receiving treatment in Hebei. In addition, 48 locally transmitted asymptomatic cases are under medical observation, said the commission.
