A World Bank report finding progress in China's business environment is fair and objective, said Lu Kang, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) during a press briefing Thursday.

The World Bank released its latest report, Doing Business 2019, on October 31, highlighting China's jump in global rankings from 78th to 46th.

The report fully reflects China's effort to improve the business environment and the government's focus on fostering innovation and private enterprises, said Lu.

The World Bank believes the number of reforms implemented to improve the business environment for small- and medium-sized enterprises is a miracle.

This year is the 40th anniversary of China's reform and opening-up, and China will continue to press ahead with a new round of reform and opening-up to fully unleash the huge potential of the market and make China a preferred place for foreign enterprises to invest, said Lu. He added China welcomes more foreign enterprises to come to China and share the opportunities.
