BEIJING, July 9 (Xinhua) - China's benchmark Shanghai Composite Index opened flat at 3,403.48 points on Thursday and quickly ticked up on optimistic market sentiment.

The Shenzhen Component Index opened 0.05 percent lower at 13,399.47 points.   

The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, was down 0.1 percent to open at 2,649.45 points Thursday.
