A new member joins China’s home made ultra large container vessels family on Tuesday. COSCO Shipping Virgo was delivered to COSCO Shipping Container Lines in Shanghai, eastern China Tuesday.

One of the largest container ships and the most advanced equipment in China, COSCO Shipping Virgo is 399.8 meters long, 58.6 meters wide and can carry a maximum load of 200,000 tons and will start operation on the Far East to Europe route.

The ship’s delivery came four months after the debut of the first 20,000 TEU ultra large container vessel that was built in a Chinese shipyard.
