BEIJING, July 28 (Xinhua) -- China's Palace Museum, also known as the Forbidden City, welcomed more visitors as it further raised the daily arrivals to 12,000 from Tuesday.

Visitors still need to make online reservation, have their body temperature checked before entering, wear face masks and practice social distancing while visiting the exhibition halls, according to a notice issued by the museum.

Shops selling cultural items, bookstores and restaurants inside the museum will be gradually opened to visitors from August 1, said the notice.
