China's producer prices rise 3.6 pct in September

BEIJING, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- China's producer price index, which measures costs for goods at the factory gate, rose 3.6 percent year on year in September, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said Tuesday.

The growth slowed from the 4.1-percent gain in August.

Meanwhile, China's consumer price index (CPI), a main gauge of inflation, rose 2.5 percent year on year in September, compared with 2.3 percent for August, NBS data shows.
