BEIJING, May 20 (Xinhua) -- China's State Council announced the appointment and removal of officials Thursday.

Liu Jianbo was appointed deputy secretary-general of the State Council.

Ma Youxiang was named vice minister of agriculture and rural affairs, replacing Yu Kangzhen.
