Among the four patients, three are residents from the Kanhaixuan residential community in Tianjin, while another one is a community staff, according to the city's center for disease control and prevention.

They tested negative for coronavirus on Nov. 10 in a nucleic acid test after an asymptomatic carrier was found in the community. But the results turned positive Thursday night in a follow-up test.

They were diagnosed as confirmed cases on early Friday after being transferred to a designated hospital.

The Kanhaixuan community was classified as a high-risk area for COVID-19 starting from 2 a.m. Friday, according to the city's epidemic prevention and control headquarters.
