The international community should encourage Afghans toward a positive direction instead of exerting more pressure as the situation is still unstable and the country faces uncertainties, said Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

Wang made the remarks while holding a phone call with British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab on Thursday, stressing that China is willing to continue to play a constructive role on the Afghanistan issue under the premise of non-interference in its internal affairs.
