China says it's confident and capable of its coronavirus prevention, and has exceeded the international requirements.

China has been taking the most comprehensive and rigorous prevention and control measures, many of which go well beyond the IHR requirements. “We'll continue working with the world, including WHO, to jointly safeguard global public health,” said Huang Chunying, spokesperson of China’s Foreign Ministry early Friday morning.

The remarks were made after the World Health Organization said the novel coronavirus outbreak has become a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC).
