China sends female mine removal experts on UN peacekeeping team for first time

The 18th Chinese peacekeeping unit will serve for one year, undergoing missions such as mine sweeping, project construction, Blue Line marking and humanitarian assistance.
The 18th Chinese peacekeeping unit consists of an all-purpose team, a construction team and a medical team. The 18th and 17th Chinese peacekeeping units will share the work.
Since 2006, Chinese peacekeepers have swept over 2 million square meters of suspected minefields and cleared over 11,000 mines and explosives. (Compiled by Zhan Huilan)
