China reiterated its firm opposition against US interference in China's internal affairs, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang said on Thursday.

Geng made the remarks after US politicians, like Nancy Pelosi, openly made contact and held a press conference with Hong Kong activists. 

The ministry strongly urged the US to abide by international law and basic principles of international relations, and respect China's sovereignty. 

The ministry also called on the US to immediately stop interfering with Hong Kong affairs in any form and immediately stop the promotion of Hong Kong-related bills, in protection of HKSAR's prosperity and stability.
