Chinese teams will participate in 12 contests of the games held in Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, India and Iran, Wu said at a press conference in Beijing.

China will also host four contests in Korla of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, he added.

"Chinese armed forces' participation in the games has played a constructive role in fostering our friendship with the armed forces of other participating countries, including Russia, and enhancing exchanges in training," he said.

China has taken part in the games since 2014 and started to host some of the contests in 2017.
