More efforts will be made to strengthen monitoring and early warning systems, as well as increasing production and supply by urging major coal-producing areas and key enterprises to fully mobilize effective production capacity, according to the administration.

It also requires relevant departments of local governments to utilize their coal reserves and adjustable stocks to stabilize market supply.

The administration will timely track the latest situation of clean heating and solve heating and energy security problems in a coordinated manner.

As of Jan. 25, the country's thermal coal inventory was at a reasonable level, it added.

The Spring Festival, or the Chinese Lunar New Year, is an important occasion for family reunions, which falls on Feb. 12 this year.
