BEIJING, Nov. 1 (Xinhua) -- China will step up training in high-risk sectors to improve workplace safety awareness, capabilities and management, the country's emergency management regulator said Friday.

By the end of 2021, training on workplace safety should be promoted in industries such as hazardous chemicals, coal mining and fireworks, according to an action plan jointly issued by the Ministry of Emergency Management and four other government agencies.

Enterprises are urged to ensure that each employee passes the training test before commencing work, and are encouraged to organize independent training programs.

Supportive policies and subsidies will be offered to help promote the training, according to the action plan.
