China to slash energy use per unit of GDP, carbon emission during 2021-2025: draft outline

BEIJING, March 5 (Xinhua) -- China aims to significantly lower the energy consumption per unit of gross domestic product (GDP) and its carbon dioxide emissions by 13.5 percent and 18 percent, respectively, during the 2021-2025 period, according to a draft outline of the 14th Five-Year Plan for national economic and social development and the long-range objectives through the year 2035.
