China will take necessary counter-measures to safeguard its legitimate rights and interests from the trade war launched by US, said Hua Chunying, spokesperson of China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Wednesday.

"This is a war between unilateralism and multilateralism, between protectionism and free trade, between power and rules," Hua noted, calling US' behavior typical trade bully.

China is ready to work with the international community, stand on the right side of history and safeguard the multilateral trading regimes and rules, Hua added.
