China urged the US to stop politicalizing the origin tracing of COVID-19 immediately on Monday, calling on the US to invite WHO experts to the country for origin-tracing study.

"Origin tracing of the virus is a scientific issue that should not be politicized," said Wang Wenbin, a spokesperson for China's Foreign Ministry, at a press briefing Monday.
Danielle Anderson, an assistant professor at Duke-NUS Medical School who has worked at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV), said recently that she did not believe that "the virus was man-made."
"Many scientists, including Anderson, in the international community who uphold scientific, rational, and objective positions have clearly opposed the politicization of virus tracing by some people in the US," said the spokesperson.
Facts have repeatedly proven that there is no factual basis for the US claim that "the COVID-19 virus escaped from a WIV lab," Wang said.
China once again urged the US to respect facts and science, immediately stop politicalizing the virus tracing and make a responsible explanation without further delay on the real situation of its Fort Detrick and over 200 bio-labs around the world, the spokesperson said.
