China will stand firmly with Serbia and donate medical supplies to help the country fight COVID-19, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang said at a regular press conference on Tuesday.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić declared a state of emergency on Sunday and expressed his hope for China's help in providing epidemic prevention materials and technology. The same night, China delivered some nucleic acid test kits to Serbia.

As of Tuesday, Serbia has reported a total of 65 cases of coronavirus with 335 samples tested. “When Chinese people were in the toughest time combating the novel coronavirus, the Serbian government and people offered their help in various ways. Now, we will also fight alongside Serbian people,” said Geng.

He added, “We will provide protective suits, masks, ventilators and send a team of medical experts to Serbia to share our experience in epidemic prevention and treatment.”
