CHINGOLA, Zambia (Xinhua) -- The Chinese community in Zambia has been supportive in fight against COVID-19, a senior Zambian trade union official has said.

Chishimba Nkole, president for Zambia Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU), said the Chinese have been donating materials to the workforce to fight COVID-19 in Zambia.

"We have seen our Chinese colleagues donating materials to fight against the spread of the coronavirus in the country," he said.

This, he said, is valuable as it helps in ensuring that the wheels of the economy were not disrupted to an unrepairable extent.

"We look forward to seeing a deepened and strengthened cooperation between our two countries," he said.
