Qian Jiahao, a first-year student of Anji County, Zhejiang Province, looks cute in the picture as he carries the giant banana leaf to school to practice pinyin, the standard system of Romanized spelling for transliterating Chinese.  A parent clicked the picture of Qian Jiahao carrying the giant banana leaf to school, and it went viral on social media. Qian Jiao’s teachers and classmates have been calling  him “Prince banana leaf” since then.

However, Qian Jiahao’s father didn’t understand the social media chatter. “It’s normal. My son wanted a banana leaf, and I got him a big one so that he could write more on it,” he said.
