The Chinese mainland reported 1,293 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Monday, including 1,228 domestically transmitted and 65 imported, the National Health Commission said in its daily report on Tuesday.
Of the new local cases, 1,055 were reported in Jilin, 96 in Shanghai, 12 in Shandong, 10 in Liaoning, eight in Guangdong, seven in Tianjin, seven in Fujian, six in Hebei, five in Heilongjiang, four in Zhejiang, three each in Shanxi, Jiangsu, Henan, Hunan and Shaanxi, two in Anhui, one in Jiangxi, the commission said.
Among the imported cases, 27 were reported in Sichuan, 15 in Guangxi, 11 in Shanghai, three each in Beijing, Fujian and Guangdong, two in Yunnan and one in Shandong, the commission added.
There were 27,859 active cases on Chinese mainland as of Monday, with 59 in critical conditions. No deaths related to the disease were reported.
Monday also saw 1,179 COVID-19 patients discharged from hospitals, according to the commission.
The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stood at 145,808, with the death toll stood at 4,638.
