The Chinese mainland reported 1,839 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, including 1,803 domestically transmitted and 36 imported, the National Health Commission said in its daily report on Thursday.
Of the new local cases, 1,340 were reported in Jilin, 355 in Shanghai, 19 in Heilongjiang, 15 in Henan, 11 each in Fujian and Guangdong, ten in Zhejiang, nine in Liaoning, five each in Hebei and Jiangsu, four in Tianjin, three in Sichuan, two each in Shanxi, Shandong, Hunan, Hainan, Chongqing and Yunnan, one each in Inner Mongolia, Anhui, Jiangxi and Xinjiang, the commission said.
Among the imported cases, 18 were reported in Sichuan, eight in Guangxi, three each in Shanghai and Guangdong, two each in Beijing and Zhejiang, the commission added.
There were 28,599 active cases on Chinese mainland as of Wednesday, with 66 in critical conditions. No deaths related to the disease were reported.
Wednesday also saw 1,403 COVID-19 patients discharged from hospitals, according to the commission.
The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stood at 149,276, with the death toll stood at 4,638.
