Chinese health authorities on Friday said that 10 new COVID-19 cases were reported on the Chinese mainland on Thursday, of which one was local transmission and nine imported, with no additional deaths.

The local transmission was registered in Xinjiang, the National Health Commission said in its daily report.

The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stands at 83,622 and the cumulative death toll at 4,634, with 104 asymptomatic patients under medical observation.
