Chinese mainland reports 10 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, all imported

The Chinese mainland registered ten new COVID-19 cases on Friday, all of which were imported cases, the National Health Commission said on Saturday.

Of the imported cases, five were reported in Guangdong, two in Shaanxi and one each in Tianjin, Shanghai and Sichuan.

Also on Friday, eight asymptomatic cases were reported on the mainland, all imported. And a total of 258 asymptomatic patients were under medical observation.

There were 230 active cases, including one in critical condition as of Friday. No deaths related to the disease were reported, while 24 COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals.

The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stands at 89,887 and the cumulative death toll is at 4636.
