The Chinese mainland registered ten new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, all of which were imported cases, the National Health Commission said on Thursday.

Of the imported cases, five were reported in Shanghai, three in Guangdong, one each in Zhejiang and Sichuan.

Also on Wednesday, 14 asymptomatic cases were reported on the mainland, all imported. And a total of 247 asymptomatic patients were under medical observation.

There were 177 active cases as of Wednesday. No deaths related to the disease were reported, while 19 COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals.

The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stood at 89,943 and the cumulative death toll was 4636 as of Wednesday.
