Chinese mainland reports 101 new confirmed COVID-19 cases

The Chinese mainland registered 101 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, three from overseas and 98 domestically transmitted, the National Health Commission said on Wednesday.

Of the domestically transmitted cases, 89 were reported in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, eight in Liaoning Province and one in Beijing, the National Health Commission said in its daily report.

No deaths related to the disease were reported Tuesday, while 10 COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals. Altogether, 78,944 patients have been discharged from hospitals by Tuesday, the report said.

The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stands at 84,060 and the cumulative death toll is at 4,634, with 273 asymptomatic patients under medical observation.
