Chinese mainland reports 102 new local COVID-19 cases, 746 local asymptomatic infections

The Chinese mainland reported 161 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Thursday, including 102 domestically transmitted and 59 imported, data from the National Health Commission showed on Friday.

The Chinese mainland also reported 825 asymptomatic infections on Thursday, including 746 locally transmitted and 79 imported, the National Health Commission said.

There were 4,246 active cases on the Chinese mainland as of Thursday, with 35 in critical condition.

Thursday also saw 799 COVID-19 patients discharged from hospitals, the commission added.

The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stood at 247,885 and the death toll stood at 5,226.
