Chinese mainland reports 105 new confirmed COVID-19 cases

The Chinese mainland registered 105 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, three from overseas and 102 domestically transmitted, the National Health Commission said on Thursday.

Of the domestically transmitted cases, 96 were reported in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, five in Liaoning Province and one in Beijing, the National Health Commission said in its daily report.

No deaths related to the disease were reported Wednesday, while 13 COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals. Altogether, 78,957 patients have been discharged from hospitals by Wednesday, the report said.

The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stands at 84,165 and the cumulative death toll is at 4,634, with 280 asymptomatic patients under medical observation.
