The Chinese mainland reported 194 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, including 119 domestically transmitted and 75 imported, data from the National Health Commission showed on Wednesday.

The Chinese mainland also reported 711 asymptomatic infections on Tuesday, including 625 locally transmitted and 86 imported, the National Health Commission said.

There were 2,991 active cases on the Chinese mainland as of Tuesday, with 40 in critical condition.

Tuesday also saw 169 COVID-19 patients discharged from hospitals, the commission added.

The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stood at 250,123 and the death toll stood at 5,226.
