The Chinese mainland reported twelve new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, one locally transmitted in Yunnan Province, the National Health Commission said on Wednesday.

Of new imported cases, five were detected in Shanghai, three in Guangdong, one each in Tianjin, Fujian and Sichuan, the commission said in its daily report.

There were 214 active imported cases as of Tuesday. No deaths related to the disease were reported, while seven COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals on Tuesday.

The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stood at 90,447 and the cumulative death toll was 4,636 as of Tuesday.
