The Chinese mainland reported 12 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Thursday, one locally transmitted and 11 imported, the National Health Commission said on Friday.

The locally transmitted case was detected in Sichuan. Four new imported cases were reported in Shanghai, four in Guangdong, and one each in Shanxi, Henan and Yunnan, the National Health Commission said in its daily report.

Nine COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovery on Thursday while 304 remained hospitalized, including eight in severe conditions, the commission said.
