The Chinese mainland registered twelve new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, all of which were imported, the National Health Commission said on Wednesday.

Also on Tuesday, sixteen asymptomatic cases were reported on the mainland. And a total of 361 asymptomatic patients were under medical observation.

There were 143 active cases on Chinese mainland as of Tuesday. No deaths related to the disease were reported, while eleven COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals.

As of Tuesday, the total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stood at 85,214 and the cumulative death toll was 4,634.
