The Chinese mainland reported 12 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Monday, all were imported, the National Health Commission said on Tuesday.

Among the imported cases, five were reported in Yunnan, three in Shanghai and one each in Liaoning, Fujian, Sichuan and Shaanxi respectively, the commission said in its daily report.

There were 669 active cases on Chinese mainland as of Monday, none of them were in severe condition. No deaths related to the disease were reported, while 56 COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals.

The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stood at 96,435, with the death toll unchanged at 4,636.
