The Chinese mainland reported 175 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Thursday, including 121 domestically transmitted and 54 imported, data from the National Health Commission showed on Friday.

The Chinese mainland also reported 726 asymptomatic infections on Thursday, including 627 locally transmitted and 98 imported, the National Health Commission said.

There were 3,058 active cases on the Chinese mainland as of Thursday, with 31 in critical condition.

Thursday also saw 300 COVID-19 patients discharged from hospitals, the commission added.

The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stood at 248,984 and the death toll stood at 5,226.
