The Chinese mainland reported 16 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Saturday, all of which were imported cases, the National Health Commission said on Sunday.

Of new imported cases, four were detected in Guangdong, another four in Shaanxi, two each in Shanghai and Sichuan, and one each in Inner Mongolia, Fujian, Henan and Yunnan, the commission said in its daily report.

There were 236 active imported cases as of Saturday. No deaths related to the disease were reported, while 11 COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals.

The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stood at 90,499 and the cumulative death toll was 4,636 as of Saturday.
