The Chinese mainland reported 226 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Sunday, including 164 domestically transmitted and 62 imported, data from the National Health Commission showed on Monday.
The Chinese mainland also reported 868 asymptomatic infections on Sunday, including 785 locally transmitted and 83 imported, the National Health Commission said.
There were 5,651 active cases on the Chinese mainland as of Sunday, with 25 in critical condition.
Sunday also saw 545 COVID-19 patients discharged from hospitals, the commission added.
The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stood at 247,078 and the death toll stood at 5,226.
